Hear What People
Have To Say

“When I was struggling with my mental health, I didn’t know where to start. I tried looking online, but everything felt confusing and overwhelming. I didn’t know what support was available in Hillingdon or what to do while waiting for help. It made me feel really alone and like no one understood what I was going through. If Thrive had been around then, it would have made such a difference. Having everything in one place – like self-care tools, videos about coping with stress, and clear information on local services – would have helped me feel less lost. I think the section about what to do while waiting for professional support would have been amazing because that’s the hardest part. Just knowing there are groups, online platforms like SHOUT, and tips for staying safe would have made me feel supported and given me hope.”

“When I started feeling really anxious, I didn’t know who to talk to. I searched online, but everything was too complicated and I didn’t understand what was for me. I just wanted something simple that told me what I could do right now. If Thrive had been there, I could have found videos and tips for coping with stress and school stuff. It would have helped me feel like I wasn’t the only one going through this and given me ideas to feel better while waiting for help.”

“As a parent, it was heartbreaking watching my child struggle and not knowing where to turn. We tried to find support, but the information was scattered and confusing. We tried reaching out to school but this was useful for my child as they did noy like school. We went to our GP, who referred my child to CAMHS only to be told we did not meet the criteria and to try parenting programmes, which was not the answer! I didn’t know what services were available locally or how long we’d have to wait. Thrive would have been a lifeline – having clear guidance, resources for parents, and advice on what to do while waiting would have helped us feel less helpless and more supported.”

“Starting my role in Hillingdon, I wanted to support young people with their mental health, but I didn’t have a clear picture of all the services available. It was hard to give quick, confident advice. Thrive would have made my job so much easier – having a single platform with local services, self-help tools, and resources for professionals means I could provide accurate information straight away and feel more equipped to help.”
