Help and support for young people aged 13 - 18+ years old

We support young people aged 13 to 18 in the UK – and up to 25 if you have special educational needs. We first launched Sidekick to support young carers. Since then, we have seen how many young people need support. Now we support all young people aged 13 to 18 in the UK.

Sidekick is a confidential helpline for young people in the UK. Text* or email us about anything that’s bothering you
*Texting is free if you have free texts included in your mobile plan. If not, it will cost the normal rate charged by your provider.
Here for all young people

A few years ago, we launched Sidekick for young carers. In that time, we have seen how many young people needed our help.
Now, we are open to all young people in the UK!

Refugees in Effective and Active Partnership (REAP) (Charity 1103345) is an independent, refugee-led organisation in West London that aims to empower refugees and asylum-seekers to live as valuable and valued members of British society. We believe that it is essential to protect the right to refuge so people can escape danger and suffering caused by persecution, and that one implication of giving refuge is that there must also be reasonable level of effective and equitable support for people as they recover and rebuild.

We work towards our aim through practical activities and engagement; communications, training and networking across the voluntary and community sectors (VCS), and policy-oriented activities in partnership with others including building constructive exchange between VCS and statutory bodies relating to knowledge and support for refugees. We seek to enhance the voices and build the capability of those individuals who have sought refuge in the UK, and their communities; by promoting equality and equitable treatment for refugees in all their diversity; by facilitating organisations and individual activists and professionals that support refugees to rebuild their lives.

The New Normal provides space for adults 18+ years who are struggling with life’s difficult moments, particularly bereavement, to discuss these issues through non-judgemental peer group support. We believe that nobody should ever feel isolated, and there is always somebody who will relate to your story.

Our aim is provide free and accessible grief support for all, and to open up, and expand, these important conversations. We have been facilitating conversations between individuals who find themselves in similar positions since 2018. We believe that grief and mental health support should be free and accessible to all people, and so we are committed to keeping our peer support meetings free, forever.

Hosted by peer volunteers who have lived experience of the topic, our spaces are open, empathetic and non-judgemental. We deliver around 25-30 meetings per month for a range of grief and mental health experiences, communities and identities.

We’re the UK’s leading charity fighting for children and young people’s mental health.

We want to see a world where no young person feels alone with their mental health, and all young people get the mental health support they need, when they need it, no matter what.

We provide young people with tools to look after their mental health. Our website is full of advice and information on what to do if you’re struggling with how you feel. We empower parents and adults who work with young people, to be the best support they can be to the young people in their lives. And we give young people the space and confidence to get their voices heard and change the world we live in. Together, we can create a world where no young person feels alone with their mental health.

Call our Parents Helpline for free on 0808 802 5544.

We offer tailored information, advice and support to parents and carers who are concerned about their child or young person’s mental health. You can speak to us over the phone, or chat to us online. You can use our Helpline service if you are the parent or main carer of a child or young person aged 25 or under. Our service is available across the UK. It is free and confidential.
